Acquired from well-known sneaker auction staple Ryan Chang, the three pairs have never been seen before, making it an instant collector’s item. Inspired by Nike’s 1986 “Be True to Your School” Dunk High colorways, the prototypes mirror the palette of the retail version of the Supreme x nike mariah flyknit beige black gold grey bedding Highs, arriving in a true red, a deeper crimson iteration, alongside a baby blue option. The croc skin leather overlays and gold tongue tags also remain the same. While the publicly released sneakers bore gold stars on the lateral and medial quarter, the samples feature a repetitive gold Nike logo instead. The theory is that Supreme opted for the pattern as a part of the brand’s faux Louis Vuitton monogram print from 2001, but the Swoosh and the Nike SB team had creative differences.
