Deemed “not safe for work,” the show was the house’s first haute couture showcase since 2020 — and deeply emotive and poetic. Tapping the essence of the theatre, creative director John Galliano’s Artisinal collection pulled all the stops from the gloomy set design of a brasserie to “broken doll” model choreography and sultry silhouettes button at the bottom. It will turn gray and the text above will go from ON to corsets.
Undoubtedly the star of the collection was Galliano’s c-nty nod to the vulva and surprisingly, grooming. The collection was a nod to “the ritual of dressing is a composition of the self,” the show notes read. “With the body as our canvas, we build an exterior expressive of the interior: a form of emotion.”

Using the “body as a canvas,” stunning “mood-faded” and “sun-bleached” garments nearly took a back seat to an artistic moment: landing strips, a the hairstyle for the vulva. Body hair, usually deemed unattractive in society, took the front seat in this haute couture moment. Thick patches of long hair adorned the vulva in some and in others, Galliano portrayed with more “out of the box thinking,” using extra fabric to emote the same effect.
