“This was actually a decision I had made before I took the show,” he continued. On Season 4 of You, all sex scenes are filmed fully clothed to accommodate his lack of desire for, well, desire-driven scenes. As for Season 5, little has been teased about the show aside from it being the final season, but one things for sure: Joe will most likely not being having sex on screen.
Season 4, however, holds the crown of best sex scene yet: the golden shower. Adam (played by Lukas Gage) enjoys being urinated on by a staff member and Joe (played by Badgley) accidentally catches a glance of Adam. Yes, they were in public and although they found it hot… it was rather unsanitary. As viewers, we soon learn that Adam’s kink is related to power play, as he enjoys being dominated by those in lesser social positions as him — in this case, the staff.
According to a very honest interview with Variety, Badgley has a laundry list of reasons as to why he despises sex scenes. And it has nothing to do with qualms of sanitation. To be frank, his commentary on the topic was shared in 2023, and was gravely taken out of control, according to him. Not wanting to become a “one trick pony”
