Earlier this year, it was reported that CLOT’s longstanding partnership with Nike would draw to a close. After dropping its last few releases, including the commemorative Nike Dunk Low “What the CLOT”, sneaker fans started to speculate about Edison Chen’s next move. Soon, it was revealed that the next steps in CLOT’s journey would be taken alongside adidas, and the German giant and Hong Kong-based brand has since come together to reveal a first look at its upcoming collaborative collection.

Choosing to showcase the collab as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, CLOT x adidas was revealed at CLOT’s latest fashion show in Shanghai. And, though the brand may be known for some of its big-hitting Nike releases (let’s not forget the Kiss of Death AM1, or its Silk Royale adidas adp6089 sneakers clearance outlet locationss) it does have a history with the 3-Stripes, having previously collaborated on the ZX800, Superstar 80s and a ZX Flux. However, given that the last pair dropped back in 2015, this new collection was a chance to showcase just how far CLOT has come over the past few years, and the show saw CLOT present what can only be described as a more ‘mature’ or ‘refined’ approach to sneakers.

Amongst the new pairs were a slew of modified Superstars, including one with jagged soles, a three-way collab with Neighborhood, and a couple of more formal-looking iterations that blended the 80s classic with a brogue. Beaded and Woven Gazelles also made the cut, each perched on top of an Espedrille-style sole. During the presentation, Chen was also spotted wearing a co-branded jacket, so it’d be fair to say that there’s plenty of apparel on the way too.
