When it comes to sneaker collabs, Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design is one of the most sought-after collaborators going. As well as working on legendary link-ups with Jordan and Nike, converse swap out sling bag black Converse, having dropped plenty of joint projects over the past 20 years. Now, FRGMT is back to doing what it does best, as its latest Converse collab revolves around a retro basketball silhouette - the 1986 Weapon.

Boasting a clean black, blue and white colour scheme, it’s not too far of a stretch to say that the FRGMT x Converse Weapon closely resembles fragment’s iconic Air Jordan 1. Once again, a white base gives way to black and blue detailing, the former landing on the mudguard and throat, and the latter adding a pop of colour to the collar and medial Star Chevron logo. Further Converse branding hits grace the tongue tab and midsole, while fragment design’s signature lightning bolt logo can be seen stamped onto the heel.

Speaking on the launch, Fujiwara said: "As I was looking for a shoe to work on with Converse, I immediately thought the Weapon would be good for me. It’s a classic shoe I used to wear in my childhood.

"I thought about trying different color blocks, but I ended up going with the current design to pay homage to the iconic shoe."
