As Nike shakes up its leadership in a quest for innovation, the Swoosh brand is seemingly looking to revive some of its previous silhouettes. Previously a fan favourite in the early 2010s, the Nike Huarache is now the latest silhouette to receive its Runner revamp.
Building upon the existing design cues from the 1991 silhouette, the Nike Huarache Runner showcases a number of material adjustments and additional Swoosh branding. Typically, each Huarache of the past arrived with neoprene uppers, but this has now been switched out for a grey mesh material. Overlays arrive in a deep black hue, sitting in juxtaposition to its base tint, and a Nike Swoosh also arrives in the centre of the lateral and medial walls.
The silhouette keeps its unique Huarache badge logo, a textured midsole and a heel counter, so die-hard fans of the original can stay at ease. The inaugural “Light Smoke Grey” colourway is rumoured to drop on July 6th at selected retailers, but no official release date has been given by Nike at this point. In other footwear news, Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance's latest 650 renditions arrive with perforated detailing.
