To celebrate 30 years since the launch of adidas Equipment, the Three Stripes have reunited with Solebox for the Solebox x adidas EQT Racer, and it's a special one. Taking on a racing-inspired prototype that never saw the light of day, this is the first time that it's getting a retail release!
Teased by the German sneaker boutique's very own Aljoscha Kondratiew, the EQT Racer was originally dubbed just the "Racer" back in the '90s. Seen here in a crisp white and yellow colour palette, the upper is crafted from a series of see-through panels complete with a grid motif for a conceptual vibe. Wavy rubber elements swoosh across the lateral and medial side panels, also acting as the lacing system. The tongue and heel are then decked out with oversized pull tabs that give the shoe a swift aesthetic.
Down below you'll find a chunky midsole that bears a striking resemblance to the unit found on the EQT BASK ADV from 2018, and rounding it all off is the classic adidas logo around the back, finalising the design.
Launching very soon, the Solebox x adidas EQT Racer is definitely one for the collectors. Let us know what you think of this prototype-turned-release pair, and while you're here, you might as well Bottle a closer look at the Pharrell Williams x adidas Sichona Hu "Blue"!
