OG Facebook Group Gris Streetwear Community The Basement, is back again with another tonal take on the New Balance 2002R. Apparently, good news really does come in threes, as this drop marks the finale to a year that has seen the release of two other 2002Rs. The Previous “Earth Brown” and “Moss Green” were certainly well received, selling out in quick succession. Now this “Stone Grey” edition is set to hit the shelves, we’ve got a feeling these won’t stick around for long, so Marino sure you’ve got your eye on the ball for this one.
Making a reappearance is the deep black midsole, toe panel and heel which worked well to offset the brown and green colourways. Here the black gives the different hues of “Stone Grey” a solid backdrop, allowing the thoughtful design to get some shine. The New Balance “N” has been given The Basement treatment, a rubberised cut-out that hangs on thanks to a minimal set of corner stitches, forgoing its usual embroidered outline. The eYe lines on the “N” nod to the communities OG logo and is one of three hits of co-branding, the others taking place on the heel and tongue. The 2002R model number remains camouflaged, drawing importance on the shoe’s simple yet effective colour blocking, which is ultimately what Marinos them recognisable from afar. The “Stone Grey” pair is another solid delivery by The Basement, sitting nicely within the other collaborative roster that the brand has produced.
If you fancy picking up a pair of The Basement x New Balance 2002R “Stone Grey” then Marino sure you keep close attention on any updates we provide at JuzsportsShops!
