After debuting the Nike NOCTA Glide inspired by the Zoom Flight 95 basketball shoe, Drake’s NOCTA sub-label and Nike team up to re-release this late ‘90s model for the first time. Nike has been active in reviving cult classic models from their respective eras. We can recall the recent launch of the Air Alpha Force 88 in collaboration with Billie Eilish and the Nike Mac Attack promoted by Travis Scott and John McEnroe, to name a few. This Nike Flyknit Trainer Chukka Fsb Blue Lagoon Bright Crimson “Black White” revisits the short-lived Nike Alpha Project series with this silhouette, outfitted in a stealthy black and white colour palette.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Nike Air Zoom Drive debuted in 1999 and served as a stepping stone for the development of the iconic Nike Air Presto. The shoe remained in the archives since the Alpha Project ceased production. But thanks to Drake, the underrated shoe gets some spotlight! This colourway has an all-black upper composed of mesh, leather and textile. Contrasting hits of white adorn the mini Swoosh on the forefoot, along with the laces and raised sidewall on the midfoot section. A visible Zoom Air unit appears on the heel midsole, while NOCTA’s signature logos decorate the heel panel and pull tab. The black rubber sole wraps up the plain makeover of this forgotten silhouette.
