Off the back of both a Sustainable New balance Response Cushioned No Show 3 Pairs Socks and Teddy Santis' fourth Made in USA collection in October, New Balance is aiming to kick off November's news in strong fashion with this latest release. Entitled the "Legacy Pack," this latest duo sees some of New Balance's revered silhouettes get a makeover inspired by the traditional Japanese technique.
Derived from the Japanese Legacyboro, meaning something tattered or repaired, "boro" refers to the practice of reworking and repairing textiles. Often utilised on clothes or bedding, a practice of piecing, patching, and stitching creates patchwork designs that extend the longevity of the item.
For this latest release, New Balance has chosen both the 550 and 580 silhouettes as its canvas. Bearing a number of Indigo shades, each model looks to be hand-sewn with an arrangement of materials and textures. Included, we see both soft, hairy, and aged suede, each working in contrast with denim, canvas, and even leather.
Given the amount of custom patchwork New Balance we've seen from creators over the years, we have no doubt in our minds that this release will prove popular among fans of the Boston-born brand. According to sources, this New Balance pack is expected to launch this month, so be sure to set a release reminder below for the latest information.
