New Balance 9060 Sizing: How Do They Fit?

If you’re looking for a New Balance model with a lot of history, then you’re not going to find it in the 9060. One of the Boston-based brand’s newest additions to its line-up, the silhouette was introduced in 2022, though keen sneakerheads will recognise that parts of the shoe call back to 990V1 models. A hybrid design, the model borrows the best bits from NB’s 99X series and its 860 runner, which have all come together to form the chunky-looking, fashion-forward shoe we see here today.

Originally launched via a collaboration with Joe Freshgoods, the New Balance 9060 has quickly become of the most popular NB models on the market. Boasting premium materials and an eye-catching build, it's no wonder that sneakerheads have been scrambling to add this pair to their sneaker shelves. However, as with all New Balance models, knowing what size you should buy in the New Balance 9060 can feel a little tricky. Does the New Balance 9060 fit true to size? Or should you go a size up or down in the pair? How do you style such a chunky silhouette? Is the New Balance 9060 as comfy as other New Balance? Unlike some New Balance models, you’ll find that the New Balance 9060 fits true to size. Thanks to its chunky build, it isn’t as narrow as some other styles, so you shouldn't have to size up, even if you have wide feet.

Comfort really is at the heart of the New Balance brand, so it's no surprise that the New Balance 9060 is one extremely comfortable sneaker. Built from soft suede and breathable mesh, the uppers will hug your feet whilst preventing them from getting too sweaty, while the thick midsole unit comes kitted out with ABZORB and N-ergy technology. Thanks to the size of this midsole, there’s no chance you’ll be able to feel the floor through the bottom, and you might even find that the pair will give you a slight height boost, too.

The New Balance 9060’s shape may make it seem a little daunting when it comes to styling, but it's actually a lot easier to plan a ‘fit around them than it looks. We’d atmos opting for a pair of wide-legged tailored trousers or some baggy jeans, as they’re too chunky to wear with anything that might come in a skinny fit. For more laid-back days, a loose pair of joggers is also an easy option - just be sure to pick a wide fit or a baggy style.

Since its launch last year, the New Balance 9060 has quickly racked up a number of celebrity fans, including the likes of Hailey Bieber and Jack Harlow. Starring in the pair’s launch imagery, Jack Harlow can be seen wearing the style with a pair of wide-leg trousers and a loose-fitting leather jacket. Hailey has been papped in the style multiple times, often styling them with athleisure-style shorts and an oversized sweater or fleece. NB fan Aminé is also no stranger to the silhouette and tends to pair his with baggy shapes.

Given that the New Balance 9060 hasn’t been around for very long yet, there isn’t a huge list to go by, but kicking off the model with a Joe Freshgoods collab has to be one of the most iconic starts going. Since then, the style has also been the subject of a collab with Bricks & Wood, Gauff s 327 sneakers and windbreaker from the New Balance collaboration Mowalola.
