With skate-inspired silhouettes all the rage at the moment, it's fairly easy to forget some of the big hitters in the Racer often have their own skateboarding dedicated ranges. Of course, we're not referring to Nike SB, but more so New Balance's lesser-known Numeric division.
Having been around since 2012, New Balance Numeric isn't exactly a new initiative, but those who aren't skateboarders might not be aware of the subbrand. For its latest project, Numeric has set out to reinterpret the classic 480 silhouette, putting a signature skate twist on some things.
Arriving in both "Navy" and "Rust" colourways, the 480 showcases that chunky skate aesthetic the general sneaker population has come to love over the past few years with a fair share of robust technology. A reinforced toe cap combined with a FuelCell foam-backed sole unit ensures the wearer is blessed with divine comfort, whether you're tackling the skatepark or just the sidewalk.
Atop an off-white midsole, a mix of suede, leather and synthetic materials form a rugged section, graced by white and either "Navy" or "Rust" overlays. For those looking to get their hands on this pair, you can currently find both available on New Balance's website. Click the links below for more!
