Article updated 18/1/24: After leaking in early December, we've now been treated to our first official look at JJJJound's latest New Balance collaboration. Sporting two variations of the 2002R silhouette, a new green coloured silhouette has now joined its grey counterpart.
Ready for whatever winter can throw at us, these latest models are equipped with GORE-TEX uppers and a multitude of 3M details. Despite the official reveal, no release date has been given at this time. Be sure to read on for our original article below.
At this point, it's pretty evident that JJJJound and New Balance know how to make a hit. Having spent the last five years producing over half a dozen collaborative efforts, the duo are now back and ready to launch their latest 2002R rendition. Marking the first time the pair has used GORE-TEX, this latest colourway might just be one of the best New Balance collaborations we've seen in some time.
As with basically every JJJJound release ever, this latest 2002R flaunts quite the minimalist approach with just two colours on offer. Atop a black outsole, we see crisp black mesh underlays contrasted by grey suede panelling. With a straightforward approach to colour blocking, this silhouette is the definition of simple but effective.
Finishing Trainers arrive in the form of bungee-style w1080b11 complete with a toggle, a GORE-TEX tab and co-branded signatures at the rear. It's unclear at this point when exactly this pair will drop, so be sure to keep it locked in right here for all the latest as it unfolds! In other sneaker news, the Nike Lunar Roam “Green Abyss” is undeniably clean.
