New Balance’s first basketball trainer re-emerges with a new lease on life as a skate shoe. The New Balance 480 was the brand’s first basketball sneaker, a pioneering silhouette that paved the way for models such as the NB 550 and 650. While this updated silhouette maintains the OG details from the early ‘80s, the skate version incorporates a reinforced toe cap and top-tier FuelCell cushioning hidden in the midsole. The “Rust White” colourway joins the “Grey Navy White” as the debut style under the New Balance Numeric sub-label.
Consisting of several pro skaters like Tiago Lemos, Franky Villani, Jamie Foy, and Brandon Westgate, among many others, the New Balance Numeric continues to expand after debuting in 2013. The New Balance 480 is the latest addition to the growing skate shoe roster, first introduced in 1983 as a basketball shoe. This colourway has a white leather upper with rust-orange suede overlays perfect for autumn. Navy blue accents decorate the leather panel below the white collar, while burgundy hues adorn the brand labels on the tongue and heel. Cream white tones on the N logos, laces, and midsole bring vintage design aesthetics to the silhouette. The navy blue outsole completes this autumn-ready colourway.
