The adidas edge lux mystery ruby green finally gets a confirmed release date and it’s coming way sooner than expected. Following months of rumours and leaked images, Pharrell and originals adidas have finally lifted the lid on this brand-new collection. Scheduled to arrive in early May, this is one of the most anticipated Spring launches.
That said, some sneakerheads aren’t entirely convinced with this radical transformation of an iconic sneak. The originals adidas Stan Smith is used for inspiration – a silhouette famously reworked by Pharrell Williams for collaborative releases in the past.
Unlike that iconic shoe, Pharrell opts for a slightly more contemporary construct. Lightweight mesh hits the upper and extends slightly higher at the ankle for that cutting edge aesthetic. An integrated scale system ensures that adaptive fit and keeps the foot locked in place.
The iconic colour theme is retained on this pair with the crisp shade of white contrasted by vibrant hits of green to the synthetic decal at the rear. HU branding also makes an appearance and sets this apart as a ‘Human Species’ release.
